Getting injured at work physically impacts your body, but it can also have adverse impact on the rest of your life. If you have been injured at work and are unable to work or perform your job duties, you may require medical intervention or physical therapy. Musculoskeletal disorders are our country’s costliest workplace health issues. In the United States, acute and cumulative workplace trauma disorders affect 1 out of every 4 people.
Our providers at Pain Rehabilitation Associates will work with you to maximize your ability to go back to work. One of our physiatrists will perform an initial evaluation to determine the type and severity of your injury in order to design a comprehensive personalized treatment plan aimed at returning you to optimal health. It is our mission to help you regain your work productivity in the most efficient and effective way possible. Your treatment plan will be focused on decreasing and managing pain, improving strength and mobility, and returning you to the condition necessary to perform your job safely.
Common conditions we help:
- Neck pain
- Low back pain
- Arm/leg pain
- Repetitive motion injuries
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Blunt force injury
- Overexertion/overuse injuries
- Slip and fall injuries
- Head injuries (concussions)
Our providers can perform an evaluation to get a better understanding of your physical abilities. In this evaluation, we will measure range of motion, strength, endurance, and tolerance to safely perform work-related and/or repetitive tasks.
The data gathered from the evaluation allows us to establish a baseline of your functional level and compare it to your specific job description. We can then develop an effective therapy program, a timeline for your safe return to work, and parameters to prevent re-injury.
Our providers design programs that enable you to relearn or maintain your skill and performance at work by providing educational programs that focus on reducing your risk of injury or re-injury. We also maintain close communication with your physical therapist to smooth your transition back to fully functional employment.
